Disruptions are likely in Mauritius on Monday, March 25, during the passage of Tropical Cyclone Joaninha. Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast for Monday, notably on Rodrigues Island, prompting flag carrier Air Mauritius to cancel its flights to and from Sir Gaetan Duval Airport (RRG), which serves Rodrigues island. Lingering disruptions, including air, road, and maritime transportation disruptions, are possible in the coming days.

Mauritius experiences an annual cyclone season from November through April, during which time tropical storms and torrential rain can result in significant material damage.

All those present in Mauritius are advised to follow local forecasts, confirm travel reservations, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities.
