Trenord suspended rail service between Arosio and Merone (Como province) on the evening (local time) of Thursday, March 28, after two trains collided near the Inverigo station. The accident occurred at approximately 18:40, leaving at least six people seriously injured and another 50 passengers with minor injuries. Replacement bus service is being provided between the Mariano Comense and Asso stations. Rail disruptions are expected in the area in the coming hours. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
