At approximately 12:24 (local time) on Friday, March 29, Sydney Airport (SYD) officials announced that air traffic controllers are starting to slowly resume processing arrivals. However, departing aircraft are still being held on the ground. The airport is not under lockdown and officials are still investigating the smoke that was detected in the air traffic controller tower earlier in the day. Flight disruptions are expected to continue over the coming hours.
