At least five people were killed in a factory explosion in Shandong province on Friday, March 29. City officials announced the incident on Saturday, March 30, confirming five deaths and three other injuries. The industrial accident occurred at a perlite factory in Qingzhou at approximately 21:30 (local time) on Friday. A police investigation is ongoing.


China experienced another deadly industrial accident on March 22 in Jiangsu province that left 78 people dead and 600 others injured.


Individuals in Qingzhou are advised to avoid the area and adhere instructions by local authorities.
