An explosion at a scrap metal factory killed at least seven people on Sunday morning (local time), March 31, and injured five others in Kunshan (Jiangsu province). The blast occurred at around 07:12 at an outdoor industrial facility west of Shanghai, according to local authorities. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
The Kunshan explosion comes shortly after a March 29 blast that killed five people in Shandong province and a March 22 explosion at a Jiangsu chemical plant that killed at least 78 people, injured 640, and forced thousands to evacuate.
