A court in Bahrain has revoked the citizenship of 138 people on Tuesday, April 16, after convicting them with terrorism charges. The prosecution has reportedly accused them of setting up a cell linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard in Bahrain. The accused persons were also sentenced to prison and 69 of them were given life sentences.

An associated rise in civil tensions is to be expected, as well as related demonstrations, in Bahrain over the coming weeks.
