A construction crane collapsed in downtown Seattle (Washington state) on Saturday, April 27, killing four people and injuring three others. The accident happened around 15:30 (local time) on Saturday in Seattle's South Lake Union area on Mercer Street near Fairview Avenue, just west of Interstate 5. Authorities closed Mercer Street from Fairview Avenue to 9th Avenue and Valley Street from Fairview Avenue to Terry Avenue until at least Sunday morning, April 28. Congestion and delays are expected in the coming hours.
