Taxi drivers are protesting the operation of ride-sharing services in multiple areas in San José on Wednesday, May 8. Participants in the demonstrations, beginning at 09:00 (local time), were planning to gather at three main points: Loma Linda de Paso Ancho en route to the Presidential Palace, General Cañas highway to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), and from La Merced Park to the Legislative Assembly building.

Localized traffic disruptions are to be expected along the demonstration routes. Interruptions to taxi and ride-sharing services are also to be anticipated in the capital around these and related protests.  


Individuals in San José are advised to monitor developments, prepare for associated transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
