Public transportation workers in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague are planning a 24-hour strike on Tuesday, May 28. Public transportation disruptions, including delays or cancelations to intercity transportation, are expected during the strike. Rail engineers and construction workers are also planning a similar strike on Wednesday, May 29.

The Dutch government is in the process of gradually raising the pension age to 67 and three months by 2024. Rail workers are protesting to freeze the pensioner age at 66.

Individuals in or traveling through the Netherlands, particularly the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague, are advised to monitor the situation, maintain flexible itineraries, and anticipate transportation disruptions and increased demand for alternative modes of transport.
