Ongoing storm Axel has caused heavy rainfall across the country as of Tuesday, May 21, killing one person in Aurach (Bavaria) following a deadly road accident on Autobahn 6. On Monday, May 20, local authorities in the city of Wangen (Baden-Württemberg) raised a flood alarm following the passage of the storm. Heavy rain was also reported in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Lower Saxony as well as in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia. Material damages and road closures were reported in areas located in the path of the storm. Further rain is forecast in the south of the country in the coming hours, raising the possibility of building damage, injuries, and transportation delays, including rail and air
