Mandatory evacuation orders remain in place for residents of High Level, Bushe River, and Meander River (Alberta province) as of Tuesday, May 21, as at least six "out-of-control" wildfires burn across Alberta province. The so-called Chuckegg Creek Wildfire, located southwest of High Level, prompted the evacuation of 4000 residents on Monday, May 20; although, authorities later indicated the fire poses "no immediate threat" to the town and crews are working to restore power to the area.

Dry conditions in northern Alberta province are forecast over the coming days, increasing the fire danger. As of Tuesday, no injuries or significant property damage has been recorded.

The Chuckegg Creek Wildfire near High Level is one of 30 active fires in Alberta province - six of which are considered "out of control." Disaster management officials have recorded 430 wildfires since March 1.

Individuals in Alberta province are advised to exercise caution when traveling in areas near wildfires, adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities (e.g. evacuation orders), and monitor the situation.
