Israeli military confirms at least two rockets fired from Syria land near Mount Hermon (northern Israel) June 1; retaliatory strikes possible in the coming hours

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that at least two rockets fired from Syria landed in northern Israel around 20:30 (local time) on Saturday, June 1. According to military officials, the projectiles landed in a rural area of Mount Hermon. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.

Further rocket attacks and retaliatory strikes by the IDF are possible in the coming hours.


Individuals present in Israel are advised to monitor developments to the situation and seek immediate shelter in the event of a rocket attack.

Due to the underlying terrorist threat, travelers in Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip are advised to report any suspicious objects or behavior to the authorities. Some Western governments advise their citizens against all travel to the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and areas near the Israeli-Lebanese, Israeli-Syrian, and Israeli-Egyptian borders.
