According to local media reports, Palestinians threw rocks, chairs, and other material after Jewish activists were allowed to enter the complex on Sunday morning to celebrate Jerusalem Day. Additional police officers deployed into the area to prevent further violence from breaking out. According to security officials, several people were arrested, and Jewish tourists have reportedly been evacuated from the area. Further clashes are possible in the coming hours and days.
