Wind gusts of up to 100 kph (60 mph) and large hail is expected in south-central Texas state, including Austin and San Antonio. Wind damage and associated transportation and power disruptions are likely in the area. The US National Weather Service (NWS) also issued flash flood warnings for Austin (Texas state) and counties to the west and south. Several flights at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and San Antonio International Airport (SAT) were delayed as of 21:00. Further disruptions, including to flights, are likely through the remainder of the day.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate power and transportation disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations and road closures, never drive through flooded streets, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
