On Wednesday, June 12, the Ghanaian government announced the release of two Canadian nationals during a security operation early Wednesday morning (local time). The women were working as volunteers for a charity and were kidnapped in Kumasi (Ashanti region) on Tuesday, June 4, outside the Royal Golf Club. Details regarding the kidnappers' identities were not immediately reported.
