A heightened security presence, along with related traffic disruptions are to be expected in Sharm El-Sheikh amid the African Anti-Corruption Forum (AAFC), which takes places on Thursday, June 13, at the Jolie Ville International Congress Center. High-level officials from 48 African countries, four Arab nations, and nine international organizations are attending the event, including President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The forum is set to address several topics, including the continental and national efforts conducted by African countries in accordance with their international and regional commitments, as well as the relationship between corruption and development.

The AAFC is part of an initiative launched by President El-Sisi in January 2018. It is designed to create a platform for African countries to exchange information, experiences and best practices to combat corruption.

Individuals in Sharm El-Sheikh are advised to monitor the situation, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, and anticipate transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence.
