On Thursday, June 13, extreme weather caused various road closures and landslides throughout Honduras. Inclement weather remains in the forecast for Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15. The Sula Valley (Northwest), along with the capital Tegucigalpa are expected to be the most affected, forecasted to receive the highest rainfall. Transportation disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible throughout the country over the coming days.
Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate power, telecommunication, and transportation disruptions, including adverse driving conditions and road closures, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Remember that running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult.
