Wildfires triggered an explosion at an ammunition depot in the Dummar area, west of Damascus, on Saturday, June 15, according to Syrian state media. Residents across Damascus reportedly heard the explosion and asserted that it rather took place in a military zone between Dummar and Qudsaya. No casualties were immediately reported.

Individuals in Damascus are advised to monitor developments and avoid the affected area.

Due to extremely poor security conditions, Western governments generally advise against all travel to Syria, with some banning travel to the country. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to any travel to Syria.
