Airport authorities announced on May 29 that the main runway at Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) will close for repair works over a 30-day period starting the week of Sunday, August 18. All LATAM flights will operate from Galeao International Airport (GIG). All other airlines will continue operating through SDU using a secondary runway.

Further limitations to flight operations are possible at SDU during the repair works. In adverse weather conditions, all flights will be diverted to GIG.


Individuals traveling via SDU are advised to contact their airlines to confirm their flight reservations and departure location.
