Bahrain: Calls for unauthorized protests June 25-26

Bahrain News Alert

Calls for unauthorized demonstrations over Bahrain conference June 25-26; avoid all protests

TIMEFRAME expected from 6/24/2019, 12:00 AM until 6/28/2019, 11:59 PM (Asia/Bahrain). COUNTRY/REGION Bahrain

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) reported that there have been calls for unauthorized protests to be held in Bahrain on Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday June 26. The protests are planned over a planned US-led conference in the capital Manama to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and to promote foreign investment in Palestine. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are expected in the vicinity of any protests. Clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out.

Individuals in Bahrain, particularly in Manama, are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all public demonstrations as a precaution, anticipate heightened security measures, including border closures and increased deployment of security personnel.
