Officials confirmed on Monday, June 24, that two Lebanese nationals, abducted in Andoni local government area (Rivers state) on Friday, June 7, has been released. Details regarding the circumstances of the release as well as the kidnappers' identities remain unclear.

Further such attacks and kidnappings targeting foreign nationals are possible in the region over the near term.
