Frankfurt authorities order evacuation for controlled explosion of WWII bomb July 7; transport disruptions likely

The authorities in Frankfurt have ordered citizens in the vicinity of the European Central Bank and Hafenpark to evacuate by Sunday, July 7, at 08:00 (local time) following the discovery of an undetonated  WWII bomb. See here for a map of the evacuation area. Localized transportation disruptions are to be expected as public transport will cease in the affected area from 08:00. However, the authorities have not yet announced when closures will end.


Individuals in Frankfurt are advised to anticipate localized traffic disruptions, allow extra time to reach their destinations, and to follow any instructions issued by the local authorities.
