Public transportation workers in the Lombard region are slated to strike on Thursday, July 11, on Sunday, July 14, and on Monday, July 15.
Local Milanese ATM transit employees operating bus, tram, and metro services will go on strike on July 11, with service interruption from 08:45 (local time) through 15:00 and again from 18:00 until the end of service, as employees strike for 24 hours. The strike will also affect commuters of the NET (North East Transport) line of Monza, where it will last from 09:00 to 11:50 and from 14:50 until the end of the service.
Trenord employees, operating regional train service, will be on strike on Sunday, July 14, and Monday, July 15, impacting all regional train service from 03:00 on Sunday through 02:00 on Monday. Though Italian law requires some degree of service during a strike, no service will be assured for this strike. No-stop replacement buses will be set up, except for airport connections - Milan Cadorna - Malpensa Airport (MPX) and MPX - Stabio - in the case of no train service.
System-wide transportation disruptions and increased road congestion are anticipated during the aforementioned dates.
Individuals in the Lombardy region are advised to maintain flexible itineraries and anticipate public transportation service disruptions, increased congestion, and increased demand for taxis.
