A double suicide bombing attack reportedly targeted a Shi'a mosque (Abu Fadl al-Abbas) in Al-Ma'alef, south of Baghdad, on Monday, July 15, killing at least five people and wounding 14 others. Further details are still emerging. No claim of responsibility was immediately reported.

A heightened security presence is to be expected in the area over the coming hours. Similar attacks are possible over the near term.
