A trackside fire reportedly damaged cables outside London's Waterloo station on Wednesday, July 17, causing significant material damages and leading to train disruptions. The affected platforms are typically reserved for trains serving Reading, Windsor, Hounslow, Richmond, and Kingston. In addition to consequent train delays and cancelations, some trains have been diverted. Specifically, circular services via Hounslow, Richmond, Strawberry Hill, and Kingston have been canceled, trains between Waterloo and Windsor and Eton Riverside are being diverted via Kingston, and trains between Waterloo and Exeter/Salisbury have been terminated and will restart from Basingstoke.

Though crews are working to repair the damages, train disruptions are to be expected on Network Rail and South Western Railway lines through Wednesday evening, and potentially into Thursday morning (local time), July 18.
