The Korean Confederation of Trade Union (KCTU) is planning a nationwide general strike on Thursday, July 18, to call for an increased minimum wage and protest labor conditions. In addition, an estimated 5000 people are expected to attend rallies across the country, with the largest being held at the National Assembly in Seoul at 14:00 (local time). Localized transportation disruptions are expected at protest sites and business and service disruptions are likely across the country.
