Wildfires in Arizona cause evacuations, transportation disruptions July 19

Event

A wildfire in Prescott National Forest has burned nearly 7,000 acres in an area located about 16 miles south of Prescott, Arizona, still active as of Friday, July 19. Authorities stated the fire was zero percent contained as of Thursday, July 19, despite efforts to contain the fire since Sunday, July 14.

Four helicopters and 18 engines have been mobilized to fight the fire.

A mandatory evacuation was issued for residents in Pine Flat on Thursday, July 18, while other communities in Yavapai County are preparing for possible evacuations.
