Four Turkish nationals were reported to have been kidnapped in Edu local government area's Gbale village (Kwara state) on Saturday, July 20. Police have launched a rescue operation as of Sunday, July 21. Further information, including the suspected identity of the kidnappers, was not immediately reported.

Similar kidnappings are possible in Kwara state and elsewhere in Nigeria over the near term.
