Italy: Rail traffic disruptions in Rome July 22

Italy News Alert

Authorities cancel trains between Rome and Florence July 22; transportation delays expected

TIMEFRAME expected from 7/22/2019, 12:00 AM until 7/22/2019, 11:59 PM (Europe/Rome). COUNTRY/REGION Rome, Florence, Tuscany

Rail authorities have canceled several trains from Rovezzano (Florence) and Florence Campo Marte into Rome as of 05:40 (local time) on Monday, July 22, due to construction-related investigations on the line, partially halting rail traffic between the two cities. There are delays of up to two hours on the service.

Transportation delays are expected to last throughout the morning. Increased road congestion is also to be anticipated as commuters seek alternative means of transportation.

Individuals in Rome are advised to monitor developments to the situation, allow ample travel time, anticipate delays and other rail service disruptions, and seek alternative means of transportation (if necessary).
