Members of the Confederation of Public Workers' Unions are slated to protest at the Ministry of Justice in Ankara on Thursday, August 1. The members reportedly seek to demand secure employment, improved working conditions, and better salaries, among other issues. Demonstrators will gather in Ankara at 10:00 (local time) on Thursday after completing cross-country marches from the cities of Van, Edirne, Muğla, and Artvin to the protest site in the capital.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected around groups of marchers on the roads leading to Ankara and at the associated protest site in the capital.  


Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, prepare for associated disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
