Hotel workers across the Algarve region are on strike as of Thursday, August 1, and will also hold a protest in Faro at 16:00 (local time) in front of their union's headquarters, the STIHTRSA. Staff are demanding increased wages and better working conditions.

Associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the protest. Service interruptions in hotels across the region should also be expected.
