Event

A strike originally planned by workers at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) for Monday, August 5, was called off on Sunday, August 4, to allow for further talks. According to Unite, workers are seeking an agreement over a pay dispute. Additional work stoppages planned for August 6, 23, and 24 may still take place if an agreement is not reached. Approximately 4000 workers, including security guards, engineers, passenger service operatives, and drivers are expected to participate in the strikes.

Significant disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations, are expected if the strikes go ahead.

Advice

Individuals flying to or from LHR are advised to keep abreast of the situation, confirm flight reservations prior to leaving for the airport, and anticipate disruptions to airport operations.
