Metro line A in Rome to undergo construction, disrupting train service August 4-25

TIMEFRAME expected from 7/31/2019, 12:00 AM until 8/26/2019, 11:59 PM (Europe/Rome). COUNTRY/REGION Rome


Rome's metro line A will undergo construction in three phases, interrupting service along the full line in segments.

The first phase, beginning on Sunday, August 4, and ending on Tuesday, August 13, will halt service to all stations between Termini and Anagnina

The second phase, beginning on Wednesday, August 14, and ending on Monday, August 19, will halt service between Ottaviano and San Giovanni stations.

The third stage, beginning on Tuesday, August 20, and ending on Sunday, August 25, will halt service between Termini and Battistini.

Replacement buses will be offered to customers during each phase to and from all affected stations on the relevant dates. Transportation disruptions, including increased road and metro congestion on other lines, are to be expected as passengers seek alternate routes during the construction period.  


Individuals in Rome are advised to monitor developments to the situation, budget ample travel time, and anticipate delays and other transportation disruptions.
