Meteo France has issued severe weather warnings for several eastern departments on Tuesday, August 6 until Wednesday, August 7. Significant storm systems are forecast, along with strong winds and hail in the Doubs, Jura, Saone-et-Loire, Loire, Rhone, Ain, Haute-Savoie, Haute-Loire, and Isere departments. Flooding and transportation disruptions are possible, including train and bus delays and cancelations. Adverse driving conditions and road closures are also possible in the affected regions.
Individuals in the aforementioned areas are advised to keep abreast of local weather forecasts, anticipate flooding along with transportation disruptions, and adhere to any instructions issued by local authorities. Be advised that driving or walking through running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult - and that floodwater may contain wastewater or chemical products; all items having come into contract with the water should be disinfected and all food discarded.
