British Airways is reportedly experiencing a technical issue which is causing delays in check-in procedures, flight departures, and even cancellations across its global network on Wednesday, August 7. Customers across the world have reported delays, including at London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on Wednesday morning (local time). British Airways stated it is unclear as to how widespread the issue is, though it is not a system-wide outage.

Information as to when the outage will be restored was not immediately available. Delays should be expected for the next several hours, particularly at LGW and LHR. Residual delays are also likely in the coming days as passengers are rebooked.

Individuals with reservations through British Airways are advised to monitor developments, prepare for flight disruptions and cancelations, allow additional time to check in at the airport, and contact the airline for more information.
