Security staff represented by Union Unite has called for a strike at London Gatwick Airport (LGW) for 48 hours starting Saturday, August 10. Afrom Tuesday, August 20, to Saturday, August 24. These strikes come in addition to the 48-hour strike scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 10.

On August 10, an estimated 130 employees are to walk out as of 06:00 (local time) with the intention of causing travel disruptions, though authorities at LGW claim flights should not be impacted. Although no further details were provided for the strikes on August 20-24; similar disruptions, including long security wait times and processing, as well as other disruptions to airport operations are to be expected during the aforementioned dates.
