British Airways announced at 16:30 (local time) that it had resolved a technical issue which caused significant delays in check-in procedures and flight operations across its network on Wednesday, August 7. The airline canceled 117 flights and delayed 300 others, impacting some 20,000 passengers, particularly at London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR).

British Airways advised passengers to verify their flight information on its website as delays and cancelations continue to impact service as of Wednesday evening. Residual delays are also likely in the coming days as passengers are rebooked.
