Initial reports indicate flights have been halted at Kochi's Cochin International Airport (COK) on the evening (local time) of Thursday, August 8, due to severe weather. Airport officials reportedly suspended flight operations at COK as of approximately 21:30; operations are expected to resume at midnight, Friday, August 9. 


Individuals flying via COK are advised to monitor local weather reports and to contact their airline for more information. Avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions and flight reservations before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
