The Notting Hill Carnival will be held in London on Sunday, August 25, and Monday, August 26. Several events are due to take place over the bank holiday weekend, including in Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, and Westbourne Park. The main parade will begin at 10:30 (local time) on Sunday and at 10:00 on Monday, starting at Great Western Road and heading towards Ladbroke Grove, via Chepstow Road and Westbourne Grove. In 2018, approximately two million people attended the Carnival.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected around the events. Some tube stations are likely to close or be exit-only, and some bus routes may also experience diversions. Road closures in the Notting Hill area, and West London more broadly, are highly likely.
Individuals in London, particularly in west London, are advised to remain vigilant, report suspicious objects and behavior to the police, follow instructions issued by local authorities, and anticipate crowded conditions and transportation delays.
