Police conducted a search in Terminal 2 at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), serving Delhi, on Monday night (local time), August 12, after a bomb threat was called in, warning of a threat against passengers in the terminal. Passengers were evacuated from the departure area of the terminal and arriving passengers were forced to wait within their respective airplanes before police later confirmed the bomb threat was a hoax. Normal operations are reportedly resuming at Terminal 2.
Residual disruptions to flight operations are nonetheless possible at DEL over the coming hours.
Individuals flying via DEL are advised to monitor developments, confirm flight reservations, report suspicious objects and behavior to airport authorities, and contact their airline for more information.
