The National Rail has reported significant delays and cancelations between London Victoria and East Croydon as of 10:47 (local time) on Wednesday, August 14, due to an accident near Clapham Junction at 09:03. This is affecting the Gatwick Express in both directions between London Victoria and Brighton, the Southern line between London Victoria and London Bridge, and the Thameslink between Peterborough and Horsham, and between Cambridge and Brighton. There is a limited service on these lines and disruptions are expected to last until at least 13:00. Transport officials are advising individuals to avoid traveling to or from Victoria or Waterloo stations until later in the day if possible.

Emergency services are deployed at the scene. Residual delays are likely on the affected lines, as well as an increased demand for alternative means of transportation.

Individuals in south England are advised to monitor developments to the situation, expect heavy rail disruptions, plan alternative routes, and allow for additional travel time.
