Flight operations remain suspended at Shannon Airport (SNN) as of 08:15 (local time) on Thursday, August 15, after a air traffic controllers spotted smoke coming from an aircraft while it was preparing to takeoff earlier in the morning. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft and emergency crews are working to remove the plane from the runway. Most airlines are still allowing its passengers to check-in for flights, but it is unclear when flights will resume. Associated delays and cancelations are possible in the coming hours.
