The 2019 Pride parade in Taipei is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 26, starting at 12:00 (local time), to support equal rights for lesbian, gas, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people. The parade is due to start at Taipei City Hall Square before heading to Ketagalan Avenue. Organizers estimated that over 137,000 people participated in the 2018 Pride parade.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions including road closures are expected along the parade route. Counterprotests cannot be ruled out. 


Individuals in Taipei are advised to remain vigilant, report suspicious objects and behavior to the police, follow instructions issued by local authorities, and avoid all gatherings as a precaution.
