An explosion was reported in County Fermanagh (Northern Ireland), near the border with Ireland on Monday, August 19. The incident follows an initial police response to a bomb scare in the evening (local time) on Sunday, August 18, and was declared a false alarm by authorities thereafter. Once police returned for a follow-up search of the area on August 19, a bomb went off in the morning. No injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear who was behind the bombing.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected over the coming hours as police investigate the incident.
