UK-based Ryanair pilots represented by the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) announced on Wednesday, August 21, that the previously announced strike starting on Thursday, August 22, will go ahead as planned. The strike is scheduled to start at 00:01 (local time) on Thursday and end at 23:59 on Friday, August 23. Another work stoppage is planned from 00:01 on Monday, September 2, until 23:59 on Wednesday, September 4. BALPA confirmed the industrial actions after the High Court rejected Ryanair’s attempt to place an injunction on the strikes. According to the union, Ryanair refused to resume negotiations after the court’s ruling on August 21.
Associated flight disruptions, including delays and cancelations, are likely during the strikes.
Potentially impacted travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
