Significant commuter rail disruptions are being reported along Sydney’s North Shore & Western Line as of 10:00 (local time) on Friday, August 23. Disruptions began around 05:20 after a train suffered a mechanical issue on the North Shore line at the Town Hall station. Officials closed the line between Town Hall and North Sydney as a precaution until repairs were completed around 09:00, causing residual disruptions along other lines. Travelers are being warned that stopping patterns and platforms may change at short notice. Residual delays along the North Shore line are expected in the coming hours, as well as crowded conditions on other lines.
