Pro-statehood groups are to hold a mobilization effort in San Juan on Sunday, September 1, to bring attention to Puerto Rico's status in the United States and demand statehood. Participants will gather at the Sagrado Corazón metro station at 09:00 (local time) and will later proceed to the Federal Tribunal on Calle Carlos Chardon.

Localized transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are to be expected in the vicinity of the protest.  


Individuals in San Juan are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, anticipate localized disruptions, allow ample travel time, and obey instructions issued by the local authorities.
