Hezbollah fired several anti-tank missiles from Lebanese territory at an Israeli army base in Avivim on Sunday, September 1. Hezbollah officials claimed to have destroyed an Israeli military vehicle and wounded several people, but the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) refuted the claim. The attack comes in apparent retaliation for a reported Israeli drone attack in Beirut on Sunday, August 25. In response to Sunday's incident, the IDF responded by attacking Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.

Sunday's attack comes one week after two suspected IDF drones crashed in the southern suburbs of Beirut. One of the drones reportedly exploded near a Hezbollah media center, causing some damages to the building. In response, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah threated to retaliate against Israel, while Lebanese President Michel Aoun said the attacks represented an "act of war." The IDF has not commented on the incident in Beirut.

Individuals in Israel, particularly in areas located along the border with Lebanon, are advised to monitor developments to the situation, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, and be prepared to seek shelter in the event of a rocket attack or airstrike. Some Western governments advise their citizens against travel to border areas of Israel.
