Labor union calls for protest in Thessaloniki to coincide with PM speech on September 7; transportation disruptions expected

The POEDIN labor union has called for a protest in Thessaloniki on Saturday, September 7, coinciding with a speech Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be delivering. Participants are set to rally at 18:00 (local time) at Aristotelous Square.

Two other rallies are also scheduled for  the same date, one hosted by a Macedonian group at 18:00 by the Statue of Alexander the Great. The second is a so-called Anarchist rally at the Arch of Galerius at the same time.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are to be expected around all protests.
