On Wednesday, September 4, at least 25 people were arrested in Matola during a protest denouncing recent incidents of xenophobic violence in South Africa. Protesters erected roadblocks along the N4 highway which connects Matola to Maputo, causing traffic delays for nearly four hours before security personnel dispersed the demonstration.
